Imo state Commissioner for Entreprenuership and Skills’Acqiusation Mr Noble Abiaso Atulegwu says Gov. Hope Uzodimma deserves kudos and accolades from Imolites for releasing N2B out of the N6b earmarked as youth intervention and empowerment fund in the state.
The commissioner in chat with Nigerian Newsguide weekend on telephone said the fund which was part of the Governor’s plan ab-initio was eventually released at a time it was needed most due to the Endsars protest and the growing demands of the youths today. He described the governor as the Messiah Imo had been waiting for, noting that in the few months to come, the state will see every reason to celebrate Uzodimma when most of his youth and masses oriented programs must have been actualized.
Abiaso opined that his Ministry was more than ever committed to marching words with action in the area of training, capacity building and empowerment for Imo youths who were not taken into consideration for many years hence the protests that nearly brought the nation to her knees. Specifically, the Entreprenuership Commissioner said the N2b would be disbursed to Imo youths after training with which they would hit the ground running with various skills they had acquired during their trainings and strategic workshops. He promised to ensure that those actually in need of the fund will access it and such must be transparently done and surpevised by his Ministry under his watchful eyes.
