Anglican Bishop of Ikeduru Diocese Rt. Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Maduwuike has urged Christians to wake up from sleep in order to conquer satan and his antics in this end time . He stated this in his homily during his pastoral visit and Eucharistic service at St Paul’s Parish Umuhu-Atta.
According to him, Christians have become so spiritually weak such that most agents of satan and magicians masquerading as Prophets and Pastors are defrauding them with fake miracles, signs and wonders. Taking his text from the book of Matthew 13vs 25ff, the prelate observed with dismay the rate at which many Christians were being knocked off the track by magicians and agents of satan who preach nothing but sudden wealth and prosperity instead of righteousness and holiness which he said bring riches and joy at the long run.
“As Jesus Christ is busy drawing souls to His side, satan is also out to labour as well to prepare many for eternal doom. The Bible says that when men were asleep, the enemy came, sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. My prayer is that God shall take away all the tares sowed among the wheats in your homes, marriages and work places in Jesus Name”
Bishop Maduwuike urged all to look up to Jesus Christ whom he said has every power to set his people free from sin and sorrow. He argued that agents of darkness who are now pastors, General Overseers and Prophets may actually see your problem but will have no true solution to it.
Archdeacon of Cathedral Archdeaconry, Ven. Sydney Akuwudike who celebrated the Holy Eucharist enjoined Christians to fully and totally cleave to the Cross of Calvary for complete freedom in all aspects of life.
Vicar of St. Paul’s Parish Umuhu-Atta Rev. Canon Dr. Emma Egbule thanked the Bishop and his wife, Mrs Anuli Maduwuike (Nnedimma Ikeduru) for finding time out of their compact schedules to visit the Parish. He thanked members of the Parish Church Council and all members of St. Paul’s church for contributing in making the episcopal visit a success.
Former Dean School of Post Graduate Studies, Federal University of Technology Owerri, FUTO Sir Prof. Clifford Anunuso, President General Atta Town Union Engr. Okey Njoku, Publisher/Editor-in-Chief Nigerian Newsguide Mr. Chidi Emeagi were among the Parishioners present at the service that featured thanksgiving, praises and prayers for the good of all Nigerians.
Among those that accompanied the Bishop to the visit were Barr HNG Amadi, Sir Barr & Lady C.S Osuji and Mrs. Ogechi Sydney Akuwudike.
