Uzodimma’s Impeachment Imminent Unless… – Cleric

The on-going battle of wits between Gov. Hope Uzodimma and members of the Imo State House of Assembly may lead to the sad ouster of the Governor if nothing urgent was done – a cleric has revealed. Speaking to Nigerian Newsguide weekend, General Overseer, City Power of God Church Aba, Rev Linus Nwagelezi said Imo State Governor, Sen Hope Uzodimma was known to be a political master –strategist and smooth operator for several years to the extent that he was in the Senate for eight years but has suddenly become a learner since he emerged governor early this year.
Rev. Nwagelezi noted that Uzodimma no matter what happened was pretty wrong to have edged out former Gov. Rochas Okorocha, Sen. Ifeanyi Ararume, Mr Uche Nwosu and many other political heavy weights from APC. He remarked that having turned himself to a god-symbol and now engaging the state lawmakers in a brawl to the extent that most of them are concluding arrangements to re-join either PDP or APGA and succeeded in impeaching Mr Speaker Collins Chiji, Uzodimma has exhibited the worst form of political insensitivity, getting the stage ready for his disgraceful impeachment in few months to come.

The General Overseer of City Power of God church Aba, who hails from Awo-omamma in Oru-East Council, same LGA with the Governor revealed that part of the strategies to remove him was hinged on the opposition emerging majority in the House of Assembly. “Since the opposition is gradually becoming majority in the House, the Speaker Mr. Collins Chiji naturally became the first casualty and was impeached last week.
After this stage, a comprehensive and well orchestrated approach that will not be faulted by any court in Nigeria will then be deployed and sponsored by internal and external interests to impeach the Governor”.

When asked what is the way out for Uzodimma, Pastor Nwagalezi retorted “The Governor must act fast and stop being deceived by a number of sycophants around him, who are telling him to “carry go”, he should stop the fight with these necessary evil called state lawmakers and give them what are their due entitlements. “Of a truth, the present crop of men and women in the State House of Assembly are the worst we have had in our history, so selfish and anti-people but Uzodimma should tread softly with them. The way and manner through which he became governor gives a lot of Imolites and political gladiators goose pimples, as such, he should not be arrogant and indifferent in the discharge of his duties.”

The cleric announced that Mr. Frank Ibezim, Uzodimma and Emeka Nwajiuba’s preferred candidate for Okigwe Senate had been decimated by the court. “Does this not show him a sign”. Sen. Ifeanyi Ararume, Sen. Rochas Okorocha, Uche Nwosu including Emeka Ihedioha whose tenure was recently truncated among many others cannot sit idly while you behave as if you are a god that you are not in a time like this. The governor can make amends now because a lot around him presently are certainly going to betray him when the chips are down”.
