Obinna Chineke emerges Best Igbo Presenter of the Year 2020

Less than three weeks after Popular On Air Personality Obinna Chineke bagged NUJ best Igbo broadcaster of the year, the Darling FM Superstar has added yet another feather to his big cap. This time around, he has just emerged the best Radio/TV Igbo male presenter of the year 2020. In a ceremony organised in Owerri weekend by OAP Media Awards group, the much sought-after cerebral broadcaster Obinna Chineke was presented with a large Award plaque and mega frame depicting his status as overall best in Imo state.

Nigerian Newsguide gathered that the IMO OAP Media Awards is an award designed to celebrate on air personalities who have excelled in their career ranging from their style of presentation, objectivity, professionalism, content etc. It is an award fashioned to celebrate excellence in media practice.

Having nominated On Air Personalities from different stations in which the public were asked to vote their favourite OAPs of the year, after the voting and scrutiny of the presenters nominated. Obinna Chineke, “Onye ji igu ka ewu neso” emerged winner of the best male Igbo presenter of the year 2020 beating Nonso Nkwa of Ozisa Fm, Goddy Ibeawuchi of MyRadio who came second and third respectively.

Recall that on 18th Nov 2020, Nigerian Union of Journalist Imo state Chapter conferred on same Obinna Chineke an award as the most outstanding Igbo presenter of the year just barely one year after he came to Imo and joined Darling Fm.
Also known as Oka Ibe na ikuku, Obinna Chineke believes every English word must have an Igbo meaning, no wonder he championed the translations of Corona virus to Nje okoro uwa, etc.

In his acknowledgment speech, Obinna Chineke thanked God Almighty for making it possible, his family, friends and fans for their support and pledged to do more.
Obinna Chineke anchors one of the leading flagship progames on Darling FM 107.3 radio station, akwukwo akuko (newspaper review) in Igbo, every working day by 7.30 am, Igbo Ezuko, Igbo kweenu, Iga egekwa, etc.
