PG reveals plan to make event memorable

All things being equal, the annual Atta Asukwanunu Day celebration which was put on hold over two decades ago has been returned and to the glory of God will now hold on Friday January 1, 2021 at Central School Play Ground Atta-Ikeduru. Series of meetings and consultations have been on-going as per having a very memorable and historic event.

Interim President General Atta Federated Union (AFU) Acho Ezirim told Nigerian Newsguide that all hands were on deck to return the ancient cultural event with a big bang come January 1st 2021. Ezirim who goes with the traditional chieftaincy title of Ozuome 1 said that the three Federating Units (Communities) in Atta kingdom viz Atta, Atta West and Awo-Ohii-Atta were seriously cooperating towards the success of the annual culture fanfare.

According to the President-General of AFU, the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee for Atta Day and former Coordinator Operation Light-Up Rural Nigeria (OLRN) under the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan and his team are working round the clock to ensure a hitch-free and successful cultural day outing. Ezirim added that the Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo and Grand Patron of Atta Federated Union Sir. Engr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and other top dignitaries in Atta will be on ground to welcome high profile Nigerians who are going to be physically present at the ceremony.

The PG though did not confirm whether or not the event would be used to confer chieftaincy titles on some deserving personalities but our reporter gathered that the 2021 Atta Day celebration will be used to launch several Appeal Funds for developmental projects in the kingdom and will basically feature cultural carnival, dances, ancient historical displays and prayers for the overall good of the land.

The three communities in the ancient town with their traditional rulers, Their Royal Highnesses, Eze Geoffrey Anika, Eze Udeneho and Eze Chikodi Noel Chukwunenye are mobilizing well to attend the rich cultural festival en masse.
