…Hon. Kanayo Onyemaechi’s 2021 “Prophecy” comes to fulfilment
…Lawmaker commends Uzodimma
…Students, Imolites jubilate
Unlike many religious prophets whose prophecies most times hit the bar, a certain political prophet and Member representing Owerri West in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi (Dele) had his major 2021 “prophecy” come to fulfilment on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
The long awaited construction of the Naze-Nekede-Ihiagwa-Obinze road which had remained a nightmare and burning issue in Imo state has been flagged off, which work is physically, currently on with supersonic speed is Hon. Kanayo Onyemaechi’s 2021 “prophecy” that came to fulfilment.
The Lawmaker who is also House Committee Chair on Lands, Survey and Physical Planning had in his new year message to his Owerri West Constituents and indeed all Imolites given an assurance and clear indication that the construction of the 14 kilometer Naze-Nekede-Ihiagwa-Obinze (FUTO Junction) road would be flagged off this month and project realized in record time.
Speaking at the flag off of the said road, Tuesday, the action-packed legislator, who goes with the name Egbejiejeogu, meaning weapon of warfare, told journalists that Gov. Hope Uzodimma was irrevocably committed to turning Imo state around vide road revolution and provision of other critical infrastructures that will actually stun his adversaries and political opponents.
He commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for considering the road and giving it to a reputable company ready to deliver.
Hon Onyemaechi remarked that his constant touch with the Governor on the need to construct the major road and the convictions therein among other things, prompted the governor to march words with action as per the road.
Leo-9 Construction Company Nig. Ltd, the company handling the project according to our reporter, moved in the best construction equipment, material and human resources to the site and had literally started coating and asphalting already having done the foundation work some weeks ago.
Imo state Commissioner for Works, Ralph Nwosu who performed the flag off ceremony on behalf of Gov. Hope Uzodimma assured onlookers, Imolites and residents of the area that the project would be actualized at record time as the construction company handling it, had been mobilized to a reasonable extent.
According to Nwosu, the road is expected to be completed under 15 months.
Some residents of the area who witnessed the flag off ceremony and the speed with which work is going, expressed joy whilst heaving a sigh of relief that the long abandoned road that made life miserable and difficult for them is now being constructed.
Many of them who were students and business people told Nigerian Newsguide that Gov. Hope Uzodimma had wiped away their tears with the start of work on the road and urged him to ensure that the road was completed and not abandoned like previous governments did.
They equally commended the Member for Owerri West in the state House of Assembly, Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi for living up to his legislative responsibility by working in concert with other critical stakeholders in the state to convince the governor on the need to fix the road that criss-crossed two major Federal Institutions in the state viz Federal Poly Nekede and FUTO.
