The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry Comrade Simon Ebegbulem weekend embarked on an inspection of the ongoing Eke ukwu market construction at Douglas Road Owerri, giving an indication that the project will be ready within 18 months.
In just a few weeks, the roads of Douglas had been cleared, and the badly built and uncompleted Somto hospital is gradually being transformed into a multi million naira ultra modern market, thanks to His Excellency, Gov. Hope Uzodimma.
The MD of Amanda Group Ltd, handling the market project, Mr Obinna Obi who took the Commissioner and some APC leaders in Owerri Zone round the site, updated them on the progress of work at the site.
Construction workers were seen committedly digging ridges, clearing debris, making foundation and other general works to ensure that the project was achieved at record time.
The Commerce and Industry Commissioner, Simon Ebegbulem expressed optimism that the project would be completed within the allocated time and assured Imolites that more projects would be executed, as the Eke ukwu market is just one amongst the many that would be realized by his Excellency Distinguished Sen. Hope Uzodimma.
