New IMHA Majority Leader, Onyemaechi vows to work in synergy with Assembly leadership

…Insists power comes from God

The newly elected Majority Leader, Imo State House of Assembly and Member for Owerri West Hon. Kanayo Onyemaechi (Dele) has reiterated his commitment to working in synergy with the leadership of the House for the common good of Imo people.

Onyemaechi’s emergence as Majority Leader took place on thursday, 4th March, 2021 at the assembly chambers shortly after the former majority leader, Hon. Uche Ogbuagu of Ikeduru State Constituency was removed by the APC caucus in the House.

Hon. Kanayo Onyemaechi popularly known as Egbejiejeogu told Nigerian Newsguide weekend that power comes from God Almighty hence promised to ensure good working relationship with the House leadership to ensure that Ndimo got the best from the representatives they elected about two years ago. He showered praises on God Almighty whose hands and Grace he said had taken him this far in political leadership.

The quintessential Lawmaker used the medium to urge the good people of Owerri West to continue to support the 3R government of Sen. Hope Uzodinma whom he said has shown greater love to Ndi Owerri West by bringing a number of development projects to the area particularly the Naze-Nekede-Ihiagwa-Obinze road which is nearing completion.
The Oforola born legislator further called on some of his people who are yet to come to terms with the reality to rally round now and embrace the APC .

He promised to use his new position as Majority Leader in the overall interest of Owerri West in particular and Imo State in general.
It will be recalled that since after the removal of Late Ukachi Amaechi, as Majority Leader of the Imo State House of Assembly about 14 years ago, Owerri West has not tasted any principal position again hence the obvious jubilation among the Constituents over Onyemaechi’s emergence as Majority Leader.

Nigerian Newsguide reporter who visited some parts of Owerri West observed that the three major blocs of the Constituency viz Ochie, Ara and Umunwoha were agog when the cheering news of Hon Dele’s emergence as Majority Leader was broken to them.
“Hon. Kanayo Onyemaechi and his emergence has indeed thrown the entire good people of Owerri West into a jubilation mood and we are indeed very proud to have such a charismatic leader as our member in the House of Assembly,” one of the Constituents said.
