Chief Iwuanyanwu pledges support for NIPR Imo chapter

Chief Engr Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu (Ahaejiagamba) has pledged his unalloyed support to the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations NIPR Imo state chapter
The renowned engineer & chairman of council of elders made this pledge on Tuesday when the members of the Institute led by the chairman Comrade Loveth Ekwemalor paid him a courtesy visit in his office Glass House Ugwu Orji Owerri.

Other members of the Institute that accompanied the chairman were the secretary Dr Nnaemeka Ijioma an Information officer at Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, the treasurer Mr Zanders Okeke the station manager of Darling FM, Dr Jonathan Ogugua the deputy librarian Federal University of Technology Owerri & Mr Destiny Akunesi a media & communication expert.

The chairman of the Institute Comrade Loveth Ekwemalor, in her opening remark thanked Chief Iwuanyanwu for giving them the opportunity to visit him. She said they came to intimate him on the activities of the Institute and some of the challenges facing them.
Comrade Ekwemalor said the major problem they have is accommodation because the place they originally occupy has been given to Department of State Service ( DSS) by the state government.
Moreover she said decision of the judicial panel of inquiry on the said property did not favour them.

The NIPR chairman said this is really affecting them especially now they want to start Public Relations academy
She appealed to Ahaejiagamba to use his good office and political good will to intervene.
Chief Iwuanyanwu who will turn 80 next year and a member of the Institute thanked the members for coming and said he will use his political connection to appeal to the state government to give the Institute another place they can acquire permanently.

He advised them to write a letter to the governor Senator Hope Uzodinma requesting for a new accommodation and send him a copy so he can follow up on the governor.
He described Nigerian Institute of Public Relations as a very important institute that the state government should not joke with because of the vital role they play in image making.
Chief Iwuanyanwu said the Institute should be using his Glass house to be having their monthly meetings which is every first Wednesday of the month.

He also offered the place for the Institute to use for their proposed Public Relations Academy taking off soon.
Engr Iwuanyanwu assured them that he would give them every support they need and should feel free to always come around when need arises
The elder statesman used the occasion of the visit to share some of his backgrounds: family, religion, academics & politics
He said he was a very brilliant student and studied under scholarship.
Chief Iwuanyanwu said he contributed to the making of Alvan Ikoku College of Education a federal school. He blamed the former president Goodluck Jonathan for not using his power as the president to upgrade Alvan to a University.

He described the mother of Dr Nnaemeka Ijioma the secretary of the Institute as a very good woman worthy of emulation
The members of the Institute thanked him immensely for offering them his magnificent edifice the Glass house for their meetings and for the Public Relations Academy and for his support in making sure they get accommodation of their own
