The General Manager of Adapalm Nigeria Limited, Dr. Esom Goddy Obodo, has appealed to the Federal Government to prevail on the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, to urgently fix the Avu-Adapalm-Egbema road because of its economic importance.

Dr. Obodo made the appeal when the participants of course 14 syndicate 1 of the National Institute of Security Studies, Abuja who are on their tour of the  state called on him in his office.

He said Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma is leaving no stone unturned in his efforts towards reviving and resuscitating Adapalm which was abandoned for many years by previous administrations in the state, stressing that the efforts of the governor in that regard would not yield the desired results if the road which was contracted by NDDC 12years ago was not completed and put to use.

Dr. Obodo who decried the bad state of roads in most of the areas that house oil installations in the state and the plight of citizens living in those areas, called on the federal government to come to their aid without delay.

He thanked the team for choosing Adapalm as a place for their research and experience sharing, and assured them of his readiness to partner with them.

Earlier, the leader of the team and Commandant National Institute of Security Studies, Mr. Adewale Adeleke commended the Management of Adapalm for their commitment in ensuring that the industry regained its lost glory.

Mr. Adeleke said that the aim of their visit was to have an on-the-spot- assessment of Adapalm and to advise the federal government on ways that it would assist the state government in its efforts towards bringing the industry back to full life.

He commended the state governor Senator Uzodinma for the massive infrastructural development going on in all parts of the state and urged him not to relent in enacting programs and policies that would enhance the well-being of the citizens.
