The Sarkin Hausawa of Imo State, Alhaji Auwal Baba Suleiman has commended Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma for his giant developmental strides since he assumed office as the Governor of the State.
Alhaji Suleiman who gave the commendation during a chat with newsmen on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el Kabir celebration, also reminded the governor of the huge expectations of Imo citizens.
He was particular about social amenities to make life better for citizens. He however, lavished encomiums on the governor in the areas of road constructions and youth empowerment.
The leader of Northerners in the state also insisted that Nigeria would remain one, despite the efforts of those clamouring for a breakaway country.
According to Suleiman, “religion, ethnicity and politics cannot separate us”, a claim he supported citing the peaceful coexistence between the Muslim and Christian communities in the State for over 158 years.
“If there is no peaceful coexistence with the host communities, I don’t think we can last up to this time, we have good understanding with the host communities as well as the traditional institutions and political leaders of Imo State and that has made us to remain one people”, Suleiman noted.
On Eid-el Kabir celebration, the Sarkin Hausawa tasked Muslims on love for one another, just as he challenged them on acts that could only bring them closer to God.
