For the people of Ejemekwuru autonomous community – a community of 18 villages in Oguta Council Area, Imo State, all is not well.
The once peaceful and oil-rich region is currently boiling over their inability to elect a new monarch, two years after the death of HRH Eze Ngozi Val Nwoke.
Nigerian Newsguide can authoritatively report that the well-publicized election to replace the late monarch, could not hold on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

Owerri, the Imo State capital was once rated the cleanest city in Nigeria just a few years ago but the events of today have actually put the mega town among the first ten in the index of dirtiest and most unkempt cities in Nigeria.
An independent investigation by Nigerian Newsguide showed that Owerri lost her glory in terms of cleanliness in the past eight years particularly during the era of Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

There are strong indications that the number of deaths among HIV/AIDS patients in Imo State is very much on the increase since the closure of government hospitals in Imo State coupled with the strike action embarked upon by Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in the State.

Residents of Obinze, a satellite settlement in Owerri, Imo state have appealed to Gov Hope Uzodimma to relax the curfew he imposed on the state as a result of the Endsars protests that recently turned violent and bloody. Some of the residents who spoke to our reporter Thursday complained bitterly about the way and manner soldiers harass and malhandle many of them especially on their way back from work immediately it is 6pm.
