The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Imo Council, has congratulated Mr Chris Njoku, a correspondent with the Nations newspaper on his victory as the Chairman of the Correspondent Chapel after its election held Thursday Jan. 4, 2021. The Council Chairman, Comrade Chris Akaraonye gave the commendation in a press statement issued in Owerri on Friday. He congratulated the chapel for the peaceful conduct of the election. He urged the new executive to carry other members along for the growth and development of journalism in particular and the state in general. The NUJ Chairman advised the new executive to look into the issue of some of its members suspended from the chapel and others not enrolled in the chapel and resolve the issues for a way forward. As Imo NUJ holds 2nd edition of Legacy Award By Stanley Okehie The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Imo State Council, Chief Chris Akaraonye has appealed for support of journalists in the state to build a stronger and reliable union. Akaraonye made the appeal penultimate week during the 2nd edition of Imo NUJ Legacy Award held at Rockview Hotel Owerri.
